Boudicca Invades Woodston!
Another day, another invasion...this time it was Year 2 to the rescue!
Year 2 brought history to life as they had the opportunity to meet Queen Boudicca and learn all about her Celtic Iceni tribe and their Roman opposition.
This workshop was packed with lots of exciting, practical activities which the children thoroughly enjoyed (and we hope you’ve loved hearing all about it too!). Within these activities, children prepared themselves for battle by marching and getting into the defensive ‘testudo’ formation with their shields. Additionally, they were challenged to learn some Latin words.
Why not ask your child what ‘scutum’ or ‘gladius’ means?
To conclude, they also heard some traditional Celtic and Roman sample menus… let’s just say it wasn’t quite to our modern taste palettes!
