Firefighters attend Woodston!
Year 2 were so excited to have a visit from the local fire service.
This afternoon, Year 2 children were promised an afternoon treat to celebrate finishing their SATs. The rumours about their "special activity" were extinguished when they were greeted by our local fire fighters! These friendly, informative fire fighters told us all about the types of incidents they are called out to. Did you know, it is not always fire related? Not only this, they were also very knowledgeable about some of our history learning - The Great Fire of London! If only they had the skills and equipment we have today.
Unfortunately, their visit was cut short due to an emergency call. However, what an experience to witness the fire service in action! We weren't left too disappointed, as they promised to return in the near future to show us their engines too.
