Nurse Visit to Year 2
Year 2 had the privilege of meeting a nurse and learning first hand about the amazing work nurses do for us.
This term, Year 2 students are diving into the world of nursing as part of their History lessons. We were thrilled to welcome a special visitor this week—a real-life nurse! The students had the chance to learn about the incredible work nurses do to care for others, use some equipment, and they were full of curious questions.
Our History lessons this term will include learning and discussions about the history of nursing, with a focus on some of Britain’s most famous nurses. Students will discover the inspiring stories of Florence Nightingale, who transformed hospital care during the Crimean War, and Mary Seacole, a pioneering nurse who overcame significant challenges to help soldiers on the battlefield. These remarkable individuals have left a lasting legacy in the world of healthcare.
Through this topic, our young historians are learning about compassion, dedication, and the impact one person can have on the lives of many.
