Celebrating our Young Musicians
If Music be the food of love - play on!
We had a trio of wonderful events celebrating the talents of our young musicians in school last week and were delighted to have the opportunity to entertain a range of audiences. Year three set the scene on Tuesday morning with Mr King and the violin players from 3JA. They were joined by a small group of cellists, including Miss Atkinson, and everyone wowed the parents with their playing and knowledge of technical musical terms.
In the afternoon, Mr Bright led a fabulous session on the djembe drums with Year five, who also wowed their audience, but also gave them the opportunity to get involved. Everyone watching had a chance to participate in some expert tutoring from the children and perform a piece together.
On Wednesday afternoon, the children visited the Salvation Army and again wowed the crowds with their musical performances. We are very grateful to Mrs Roberts for her passion and commitment, and for making opportunities such as these possible. We are very proud of our staff, the children and our excellent partnership work. The value of such expertise should not be underestimated for the love of Music, it inspires in our pupils.
